Supporting our local community
With money raised from the Show we are able to help a range of important community ventures. Our committee selects a number of charities and support groups each year to whom we donate surplus funds raised from the Village Show.
2025 cHARITIES
PDCCA (Pulborough & District Community Care Association) www.pdcca.org.uk
“We provide support to local people who are chronically lonely or socially isolated. We offer a weekly Lunch and Social Club, a Befriending Service, a Community Transport Service and a weekly drop in (Pop-in).”
The Sussex Snowdrop Trust www.thesussexsnowdroptrust.com
“Provides vital nursing care at home for children who have a life-threatening illness such as cancer, brain tumours, lung & heart conditions. The paediatric community nurses help parents care for their sick child. They advise them on how to administer medications, manage gastric tubes, change dressings etc and give support when needed, following diagnosis. Emotional support is available for all members of the family with ‘Snowdrop’ Counsellors. Financial help is given to families who find it difficult to cope with the extra costs associated with caring for a sick child.
The symbol of the ‘Snowdrop’ was chosen by the Founders as it represents ‘hope’ & ‘consolation’. These delicate flowers endure so much in bitter conditions & emerge in Spring. The supported families deal with so much but the Care at Home Team are there to help along this journey.
The Trust must raise £500k a year to provide these vital members of the Care at Home Team who are there for families who are on the ‘Snowdrop’ pathway as they have a life-threatening illness and need nursing and counselling.
The Care at Home Team is currently supporting 61 families locally.
This year, the Trustees have supported an additional nurse at Fordwater School, pupils 2–19 years with complex educational & medical conditions.”
4Sight Vision Support www.4sight.org.uk
“Helping people across West Sussex who are blind or partially sighted to live life without limits, through person-centred, tailored support. Their friendly and caring team provide information, advice and guidance on living well with sight loss, equipment and aids, accessing benefits and concessions, using accessibility features on technology, and much more.”
How will the show donation help you?
“Your kind donation will contribute to the cost of running all our services including the purchase of groceries and the running costs of our wheelchair assisted vehicle. It will enable us to continue to provide support to local people who are feeling lonely and those that are unable to access health care services by public transport. Thank you to the show organisers, we wish you a fantastic show!” says from PDCCA
“Caring for a seriously ill child can be overwhelming, leaving little time for the simple joys of family life or a holiday. That’s why, every summer, The Trust gives Snowdrop families the opportunity to enjoy a memorable day out. Therefore the money from the show can really contribute to this.” says Lucy from The Sussex Snowdrop Trust.

Family Support Work www.familysupportwork.org
How did the show donation in 2024 help you? “This incredible £3000 donation has made a huge difference to FSW’s work in West Chiltington and the local area. In a time where all charities are finding it incredibly challenging to raise funds to sustain their work, we are so grateful to be a beneficiary of support. This donation has enabled us to provide 3 weeks’ worth of weekly support to 23 families in crisis, helping them to overcome complex and challenging situations and giving them practical and emotional support to move forward with confidence. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity!”

A special thank you goes to the WI for their past and ongoing support of the show and it’s chosen charities.
‘Founded in 1920 we are a thriving group who meet in the village hall on the second Thursday in the month (excluding August) at 2.00 p.m. Our ethos is to educate with our speakers, friendship through our members and champion the cause of women by supporting local charities and national campaigns. We are pleased once again to support the Village Day event.’
